Strategic Account Manager for Protective and Marine Coatings

The Strategic Account Manager will develop long-term relationships with strategic clients, understand their business needs, and deliver tailored coating solutions to enhance operational performance.

Responsibilities
Develop and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with strategic accounts in the protective and marine coatings market. Act as the primary point of contact for these clients
Identify opportunities to grow sales within existing accounts by understanding client needs, proposing appropriate coating solutions, and negotiating contracts
Collaborate with clients to understand their operational challenges, coating requirements, and project specifications to recommend optimal products and services
Work closely with technical support, R&D, and product management teams to provide clients with expert advice on coating selection, application methods, and compliance with industry standards
Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes affecting the protective and marine coatings industry to proactively address client needs and identify new business opportunities
Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure timely delivery, quality assurance, and successful implementation of coating projects
Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and account plans to track progress against targets and inform strategic decision-making
Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by addressing issues promptly, managing expectations, and delivering value-added services
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years' experience in sales or account management within the protective coatings, marine coatings, or related industrial coatings sector
Strong technical knowledge of protective and marine coatings, including surface preparation, application techniques, and industry standards (e.g., NACE, SSPC)
Proven track record of managing strategic accounts and achieving sales targets
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively across functions and with diverse stakeholders
Willingness to travel as required to meet with clients and attend industry events
U.S. Citizens, Green Card holders, and political asylees or refugees are eligible to apply
Preferred
Advanced degree or relevant certifications are a plus
