Responsibilities
You will be responsible for strategic program management of facility space planning requirements and their integration with UFC 2-000-05N Facility Planning Criteria for Navy/Marine Corps Shore Installations
Serve as technical authority for facility space planning and design criteria for the DoN. Conduct/participate in reviews of Integrated Product Support (IPS) planning efforts, planning studies, BFRs, designs, specifications for criteria compliance
Participate on and/or lead integrated product teams of planners, engineers and architects develop current and emerging technical requirements and criteria used for planning, design, construction, and maintenance associated with facility needs
You will apply expert ability and knowledge to manage planning and design criteria, investigate potential problems and provide consultation services world-wide on a broad range of facility requirements
Qualification
Required
AICP certification (0020) series, Professional Engineer (PE) or Architect (RA) registration for the 0801 series, or 0808 series respectively
Must be a US Citizen
Must be determined suitable for federal employment
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program
New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check
Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level
Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service
You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty
This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes
You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases
This position may require occasional travel from normal duty station
Selective Placement Factor (SPF): certification as a Certified Planner by the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) for the 0020 series, current registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) for the 0801 series or Architect (RA) for the 0808 series
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Planning and/or design criteria development associated with Department of the Navy facilities; 2) Facility space planning development through planning or design experience; 3) Familiarity with related planning, engineering or architectural fields and knowledge of multidiscipline facility planning and design; and 4) Familiarity or knowledge of facilities engineering, facilities design and design development
Applicants for the Professional Community Planning Series must meet the following basic education requirements: 1. Degree in community planning or related field with at least 12 semester hours in the planning process, socioeconomic and physical elements of planning, urban and regional economic analysis, and development finance, or 2. Combination of education and experience
Applicants for the Professional Engineering Series must meet the following basic education requirements: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree or current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE)
Applicants for the Professional Architecture Series must meet the following basic education requirements: Successful completion of a bachelor's or higher degree in architecture or a related field with specific coursework
