Industrial Engineer

The Industrial Engineer role involves designing warehouse solutions, analyzing productivity, and driving cost-effective process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.

Responsibilities
Design and update warehouse layouts for new and existing facilities using AutoCAD
Propose automated warehousing and storage solutions to improve throughput and reduce labor requirements
Analyze storage strategies, slotting, and zoning to optimize material flow and space utilization
Conduct time studies and related analyses to determine productivity standards and staffing requirements
Analyze operational data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement
Perform ROI analyses to justify capital investments and equipment proposals
Develop pricing estimates and cost models for new business opportunities in partnership with Finance/Sales
Analyze existing warehousing and packaging processes; recommend and implement improvements to safety, quality, cost, and throughput
Create workflow plans and implementation roadmaps in collaboration with operations leadership
Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to track performance against KPIs using Excel, SQL, and BI tools
Support ad-hoc analyses and continuous improvement initiatives across sites
Partner with operations management, engineering, and customers to gather requirements and deliver engineered solutions
Select and work with external vendors on material handling and capital projects from concept through implementation
Follow corporate and site-specific Good Manufacturing Practices and report non-compliance when observed
Observe all company safety rules and support enforcement and training as appropriate
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field required
2+ years of experience in a warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing environment
Experience with WMS or production management systems
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; able to work effectively with both internal teams and customers
Demonstrated commitment to quality, safety, and compliance
Preferred
Strong proficiency in Excel; experience with SQL and visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar) preferred
Knowledge of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques; Lean/Six Sigma certification preferred
Experience with AutoCAD or similar tools for facility layout preferred
Knowledge of secondary packaging operations is a plus
