Responsibilities
Review architectural drawings, specifications and opening schedules to determine hardware requirements
Create complete hardware sets (door/hardware schedules) based on room functions and project criteria
Generate submittals, shop drawings, and hardware schedules using manufacturer cut sheets and EPWS (or other software)
Initiate RFIs to architects/engineers when specifications or openings are unclear
Coordinate with project managers, sales reps, and procurement to procure hardware, track lead times, and maintain documentation throughout the project lifecycle
Assist with change orders, Architectural Supplemental Instructions (ASIs), and RFIs as needed
Monitor material cost variances and address discrepancies between scoped and detailed costs
Maintain strong organization, accuracy, timely turnaround in a fast-paced commercial construction environment
Qualification
Required
Strong attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication
Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines and deliver accurate documentation under pressure
Minimum of 2 years' experience in commercial construction hardware detailing (doors/frames/hardware) or similar role
Experience reading architectural plans, schedules, specifications and interpreting hardware requirements
Proficiency with hardware schedule software or equivalent; experience with EPWS or similar is a strong plus
Preferred
Associate degree in technical/engineering or related field
Experience with Bluebeam, AutoCAD or other detailing/drawing software
Prior experience working with Division 8 (doors, frames, hardware) in commercial construction projects
Familiarity with profit/cost monitoring for hardware sets
