Accounting Manager
CFS is a well-established nonprofit organization in Westminster, MD, seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee financial operations and lead a dedicated team. The role involves ensuring financial sustainability, preparing financial statements, and collaborating with leadership on strategic decisions.
Responsibilities
Oversee accounting, budgeting, financial planning, grant reporting, and compliance
Prepare financial statements, manage audits, and ensure accurate payroll processing
Lead and mentor a team of three finance professionals
Collaborate with leadership on strategic financial decisions
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
Minimum 5+ years of accounting experience, ideally with some supervisory or team lead responsibilities
Strong tenure in previous roles (2–3+ years per position)
Advanced Excel skills; experience with automated accounting systems
Preferred
CPA preferred
Nonprofit or education background is a plus, but not required
Experience with Blackbaud (accounting) and Paylocity (payroll) – experience helpful but not required
