Asst. Port Engineer - NSE Analyst

Responsibilities
Promote the TOTE Services safety culture and adhere to all safety guidelines and make safety a priority in everything we do
Perform lifecycle management for the assigned class of ships using ABS Nautical Systems Enterprise as the management software. Ensure all ships in the class remain consistent with regards to preventive maintenance plan, corrective maintenance & repair tracking, equipment hierarchy, shipboard alterations, and spare parts management
Ensure all required data is entered into the ABS Nautical Systems management system in accordance with the MARAD Business Protocol document and ship manager contract requirements
Export reports from the ABS Nautical Systems Enterprise management software as required to meet contractual deliverables and to satisfy all data-calls from the customer
Assist the Port Engineer in overseeing the maintenance and repair of vessels, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations
Coordinate with internal departments and external vendors to schedule and prioritize repairs, inspections, and maintenance tasks
Participate in the development and implementation of preventive maintenance programs for vessels, machinery, and equipment
Assist in managing the budget for vessel maintenance, repairs, and spare parts procurement
Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs, safety concerns, and potential areas for improvement
Assist in investigating and resolving technical issues and breakdowns, providing timely solutions to minimize downtime
Collaborate with the Port Engineer to ensure proper documentation and record-keeping of maintenance activities and repairs
Assists the Company in any necessary duties to achieve Company goals
Performs other related duties as assigned
Adherence to the Integrated Management System that covers Quality, Environmental, and Safety
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science in: Marine Engineering or Naval / Marine Architecture or Mechanical Engineering
Recommended minimum of 2 years' experience serving aboard commercial ocean-going ships of not less than 4,000 HP as either a Chief Engineer, First Assistant Engineer, or Second Assistant Engineer
A minimum of 1 year working with computerized maintenance tracking system (preference given to ABS NSE)
Proficiency utilizing computerized maintenance tracking systems to include data entry, data quality control, and running of reports
Experience demonstrating effective management of maintenance and repair of ocean-going ships
High proficiency and accuracy with data
Proficiency in ABS NS-E, NS-5 Software for database entry experience is strongly desired
Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to multitask and work within critical time constraints
Ability to work independently and under limited supervision
Comprehensive knowledge of technical manuals and drawings, shipboard arrangement, and organization, functioning of machinery, repair techniques, costs, and report preparation
Must possess or be eligible for a DOD-granted 'SECRET' security clearance
