Hardware Engineer

Responsibilities

Design and develop embedded, high-speed electronics for sensing, communication, and other equipment
Conduct feasibility studies, analysis, and simulation for new hardware designs, ensuring compliance with military standards and requirements
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, mechanical engineers, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions
Generate detailed hardware specifications, schematics, and PCB layouts for advanced hardware boards, custom electronic enclosures, and wiring harnesses with mil-spec connectors
Perform prototype testing, troubleshooting, and validation of avionics systems using the designed equipment
Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend improvements and innovations

Qualification

Required

Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering or a related field
Proficiency in relevant tools and software for schematic capture, PCB layout, and simulation (e.g., Altium, Cadence, SPICE)
Familiarity with laboratory equipment: Oscilloscopes, power-supplies, signal generators, spectrum/network/logic analyzers
Familiarity with military standards and specifications related to electrical hardware design
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Effective communication and collaboration skills
U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance

Preferred

Experience with Electromagnetic interference and compatibility (EMI/EMC) principles
Understanding of electronics thermal management
Coding skills with Matlab, Python, and/or C++
Design and analysis experience using industry standard tools (COMSOL, ANSYS, Matlab, Python, etc)
Experience with avionics systems
