Responsibilities
To be responsible for the development, implementation, and monitoring of predominately short term (0- 12 months) plans to ensure the achievement of objectives related to a given engineering discipline
To solve problems, sometimes in the face of limited or vague information, that may affect multiple disciplines and departments
To respond and assist in accident and incident investigations
To regularly communicate technical information and influence internally at all site levels and with external engineering contractors, suppliers and regulators of core discipline engineering matters
Provide plant and process troubleshooting skills to manufacturing assets ensuring downtime is kept to a minimum
Lead/participate in hazard studies and participate in process hazard reviews including carrying out risk assessments with assigned plant areas
Identify areas for improvement and to generate original thinking in design and development
Make decisions in relation to specific situations and may be inherently complex in nature with the results regularly reviewed
Approach tasks with creativity and continual improvement while working under the direction of a line manager with regular referral
Perform all duties within the Company’s safety, health & environmental regulations
Work as part of a larger departmental team
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 2-4 years' Process Engineering experience in an industrial environment
Competency in core engineering disciplines required
Ability to prioritize workload with competing priorities
Proficiency in MS Office
Must have oral and written proficiency in the English language
Preferred
Experience in the Specialty Chemical processing industry is preferred
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Chemical or similar technical field preferred
