Mine Engineering Intern

They are seeking a Mine Engineering Intern to assist in continuous improvement and capital projects across their Indiana plant locations, with responsibilities including operational analysis, incident investigations, and project completion.

Responsibilities

Review and analyze daily operational procedures, metrics and trends at Aggregate sites to propose possible efficiencies improvements
Assist in conducting incident investigations including root cause analysis, coordinating execution of action items and continuous improvement activities
Work with Aggregates site Plant Managers and Quality Manager to review operating procedures and collect data to optimize production strategies
Completion of assigned project and presentation of accomplishments to the leadership team at the conclusion of internship
Prepare project justifications
Other duties as needed
Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including but not limited to continuously growing in alignment with the Company’s core values, competencies, and skills

Required

High School or Equivalent Diploma required
Sophomore or junior candidates currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Mining Engineering
1+ years of work experience
Technical knowledge
Excellent verbal and written communication
Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Self-motivation, time management skills and team orientation
Advanced Computer proficiency (AutoCAD, Microsoft Office including Excel and PowerPoint)
Basic math skills
Previous leadership experience
Must be able to pass a background check and physical/drug test
This position will require the individual to work in environments with dust and noise
This position may require the following physical requirements: sitting or standing for long periods of time; lifting up to 50 pounds; bending to lift; crouching, kneeling, walking
