Sr Engineers, Radio Frequency

Responsibilities
Use professional concepts and apply company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues
Work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of situations or data will require evaluation of identifiable factors
Work with National Performance Analytics team and be responsible for RAN performance modeling and forecasting, deriving RAN performance targets, and conduct RF performance analysis to support with strategic decisions
Develop the performance projection models and methodology, which require in-depth knowledge of 5G Voice/Data and LTE technologies
Evaluate all upcoming and new products from Network Development and all ongoing activities in the field to estimate which key performance indicator is impacted and by how much
Provide performance targets for the new products being developed by Network Development and review the various development documents and Field Integration Test results to ensure these targets are being met
Provide Feedback and direction to development and engineering teams to improve network performance
Correlate Network Performance metrics using various data sources such as OM data, Drive test data, App-based measurements and Competitive analysis/benchmarking
Establish trends and patterns to understand impact of specific KPIs on overall customer/user experience
Use Coverage and Capacity forecasts to develop and publish Network Performance targets and projections
Validate and tune this performance projection model based on delta between actual and target performance
Develop and publish regular Network Performance Scorecards and reports to Executive leadership, local engineering, and operations teams
Work closely with other Performance teams (by OEM) and SMEs to improve the process efficiency and minimize redundant problem solving
Develop and continuously improve KPI metrics and reports for both Executive Leadership as well as field engineers
Act as the subject-matter expert in Performance Data Analytics
Qualification
Required
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, or related, and 3 years of relevant work experience
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or related, and 5 years of relevant work experience
Experience in 3GPP specifications for LTE and NR Air Interface, including PHY, MAC, RLC, RRC, PDCP, and NAS layers
Experience in advanced wireless industry practices for 4G and 5G radio network troubleshooting and optimization
Experience in enhancing key performance and quality indicators such as accessibility, mobility, retainability, integrity, and throughput for 4G/5G networks using Layer 3 messages and tools like True Call, TEMS, and OM counters
Experience in troubleshooting and optimizing inter-RAN vendor scenarios
Experience in configuring, implementing, troubleshooting, and monitoring performance for parameter and feature testing trials on 4G/5G technologies using tools such as Cell Trace analyzer, Session analyzer, Parameter management, and shell scripting apps
Experience in analyzing counters, fine-tuning vendor-specific RAN features, and developing internal processes for radio network design and new feature/technology implementation
Experience in 4G/5G layer management strategy parameters and settings to optimize frequency bands for enhanced customer experience in both idle and connected modes for voice and data using Actixone, PM counter analytics using Tableau, and command line interface applications
Experience in configuring layer management strategies per device type, slice, chipset, and cause code using AMOS and Bulk CM applications
Experience in SMO shell scripting with the ability to create commissioning files and implement network-wide parameter changes using XML/AMOS scripts
Experience in creating and automating cron jobs on ENM via Python scripting
Experience in Eden-NET SON (Self-Organizing Network) architecture and customization of SON modules using Python to automate network-level radio parameter and configuration changes
Experience in implementing automation methods to improve network performance using pandas, openpyxl, streamlit, numpy, plotly and dash
At least 18 years of age
