Responsibilities

Pass on to other workers instructions received from supervisor and start work by assigning immediate tasks
Perform the full range of repair work from initial diagnosis and full disassembly to modification and reassembly of a wide variety of small arms including new or experimental weapons designed to meet rigid specifications
Ensure that needed plans, blueprints, material, and tools are available, and that needed stock is obtained from supply locations
Check work in progress and when finished, checks for compliance with supervisor’s instructions on work sequence, procedures, methods, and deadlines
Provide information to supervisor on status and progress of work, causes of delays, and overall works operations and problems

Required

Ability to do the work of a(n) Armament Equipment Repairer Leader without more than normal supervision
Possess the ability to perform common tasks associated with the issuance of instruction for work sequence, procedures, methods, and deadlines
Ensure that work assignments are carried out by other members of the group
Complete rebuild, modification, repair, inspection, and testing for all types of small arms and artillery systems
Ability to lift subassemblies or small weapons weighing 15 to 20 pounds and carry large assemblies or weapons weighing up to 50 pounds
Ability to walk, bend, and stand for long periods
Completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter
Possess a Secret Security Clearance
Criminal history background check required
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation
