Responsibilities
Run engagements from start to finish
Manage tax preparation for complex business, individual and trust federal and state income tax returns
Research and analyze multifaceted tax issues
Identify and implement tax planning and consulting opportunities
Work closely with the lead tax partner on sophisticated M&A transactions
Draft memos and correspond with clients and taxing authorities
Qualification
Required
Minimum of ten years' experience at a regional, national or multi-national accounting firm
An accounting degree from an accredited four-year university
CPA certification required
A strong ability to manage client and internal expectations, grow client relationships and lead staff
Proficiency in the selling process, including meeting and corresponding with prospective new clients, preparing job budgets and drafting engagement letters
Excellent analytical and technical skills, including exposure to family office, multi-state, and flow-through taxation
Capable of expanding their portfolio of clients as well as the firm's service offerings
Success in networking with regular contributions to the industry at large
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Comfortable speaking or presenting in front of clients and peers
Availability to work in the office at least 3 days per week
Preferred
MST is a plus
Real estate experience is a plus
An understanding of the internal operations of a firm including billing, budgeting, and long term goals
