Project Leader, Product Development (Gelest)

Gelest Inc., part of the Mitsubishi Chemical Group, is hiring a Project Leader in their Product Development group to join their team in Morrisville, PA. This role is responsible for overseeing and driving chemistry-related projects, ensuring that milestones and objectives are met while fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage project planning, timelines, resources, and deliverables
Serve as the primary chemistry technical resource supporting project-related production processes
Actively participate in hands-on laboratory work to support product development, including experimental design, execution, and data analysis
Coordinate work across cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution
Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies
Guide experimental design, oversee lab work, and ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards
Analyze data, interpret results, and provide clear recommendations
Prepare project updates, technical documentation, and presentations for diverse audiences
Cultivate a collaborative, inclusive team culture focused on innovation and continuous improvement
Partner with internal departments and external collaborators as needed
May travel for customer visits, trade shows, and commercial team collaboration

Required

Advanced degree in Chemistry, Materials Science or Polymer Chemistry
Demonstrated project management experience in a research, product development or industrial environment
Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical information
Hands-on experience with laboratory techniques, analytical instrumentation, and data analysis
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and relevant scientific tools
Proven leadership skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
Ability to work safely within a chemical processing environment and use appropriate PPE
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
