Supervisory Investigation/Compliance Specialist

Responsibilities
Develops and implements significant new program strategies; analyzes key policy questions in the compliance area and makes significant agency policy recommendations and decisions
Adjudicates findings, assesses evidence for factual and legal sufficiency, and determines whether further investigation is required to support compliance action related to risks to national security, digital economy, public safety and security, or critical infrastructure of the United States
Directs the preparation of summaries of their findings and/or recommendations on their disposition, ultimately supporting compliance activities
Oversees and directs the planning and management of major and continuing compliance programs that involve high-priority cases central to agency objectives

This position requires a TOP SECRET/SCI CLEARANCE: Any required investigations and clearances must be completed before the selectee can be placed in the position
You must successfully pass a background investigation. This may include a credit check, a review of financial issues, as well as certain criminal offenses and illegal use of possession of drugs
A probationary period may be required
A supervisory probationary period may be required

Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the next lower grade level in the Federal Service
To qualify at the GS-15 level: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: You must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level in the Federal service
Providing strategic guidance and recommendations to executive-level leadership and representing an organization in interagency or external forums
Interpreting and applying national security-related regulations to ensure consistent regulatory oversight
Overseeing compliance audits and drafting contractual or legally binding mitigation agreements or conditions for U.S. or foreign businesses subject to national security regulatory actions
Mentoring and training junior employees on regulatory issues involving intellectual property, data privacy, and technology-based supply chain risks
