NetSuite is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to work closely with software engineers from various cloud service teams to build secure and efficient services and infrastructure. The role involves technical leadership, system architecture design, and collaboration in a fast-paced, agile environment.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc
Assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems
Provide technical leadership to other software developers
Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs
Work with a team of software engineers responsible for the software design, development, and operations for our new and existing products
Architect broad systems interactions, be hands-on, be able to dive deep into any part of the stack
Recommend and justify major changes to new and existing products and establish consensus with data-driven approaches

Required

Experience developing and operating high-scale services
Deep knowledge in a few areas of the software, hardware, and network stack
Ability to architect broad systems interactions
Experience in designing, developing, troubleshooting, and debugging software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks, etc
Ability to provide technical leadership to other software developers
Experience in defining and developing software for tasks associated with developing, debugging, or designing software applications or operating systems
Ability to work independently and provide technical leadership to the organization
Understanding of how to make cloud-scale services resilient
Ability to balance speed and quality with iterative and incremental improvements
Understanding of operational excellence and ability to infuse a culture of being proactive within the team
Ability to recommend and justify major changes to new and existing products and establish consensus with data-driven approaches
Intellectual curiosity and excitement for solving complex problems of complex massive systems
Value simplicity and usability as well as security
Comfortable working in a collaborative, agile environment
