Data Center Mechanic - Electrical & Mechanical
IES Infrastructure is seeking a Data Center Mechanic - Electrical & Mechanical with expertise in industrial systems and machinery. The role involves providing on-site support, maintenance, and troubleshooting for industrial clients, ensuring efficient and reliable operation of machinery and equipment.

Responsibilities
Provide hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair services for a wide range of industrial equipment, including pumps, motors, compressors, HVAC systems, conveyors, and other machinery
Perform preventive maintenance (PM) and emergency repairs on machinery to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency at customer sites
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues and perform repairs or replacements as necessary
Install new machinery or equipment as per client specifications, ensuring correct setup and calibration
Use advanced diagnostic tools and techniques (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, vibration analyzers) to identify faults in industrial systems and machinery
Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and software-related issues on-site to restore full functionality
Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals to troubleshoot and perform repairs or installations
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during service visits, maintaining a high level of professionalism and customer satisfaction
Communicate technical issues, repair plans, and recommendations to customers in a clear and concise manner
Provide training and support to customers on the operation and maintenance of industrial equipment
Maintain strong customer relationships by providing timely, efficient, and courteous service
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance visits to ensure the longevity and proper functioning of equipment
Recommend system upgrades, replacements, or modifications to improve efficiency or meet evolving client needs
Monitor and record the performance of systems during visits and suggest optimizations or improvements
Ensure that all work is carried out in compliance with safety standards, regulations, and company policies
Conduct risk assessments and safety checks before starting any repair or maintenance work
Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and observe all safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
Report safety hazards or concerns immediately to management
Complete accurate service reports for each job, detailing the work performed, parts replaced, and any recommendations for further action
Track service activities, parts inventory, and equipment condition in company databases or service management software
Maintain accurate records of time worked, travel expenses, and other administrative tasks required for billing and reporting purposes
Ensure that service vehicles are stocked with necessary tools, parts, and equipment to complete a wide range of service calls
Monitor inventory levels of spare parts and order supplies as needed to ensure minimal downtime
Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition, including performing regular checks and servicing
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Field Service Technician or similar role, with a focus on industrial machinery or equipment
Experience with a broad range of industrial systems (e.g., motors, pumps, HVAC, hydraulic systems, PLCs) is highly desirable
Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems and the ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain them
Proficiency in the use of diagnostic tools and software for troubleshooting and diagnostics
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record, as this position requires extensive travel
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to think critically and act decisively in emergency situations
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical clients
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or after-hours, as needed
Physical stamina to handle heavy equipment and perform manual tasks in industrial environments
Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
Ability to work in various environments, including confined spaces, high places, and noisy settings
Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and work in physically demanding positions for extended periods
Ability to travel regularly and work at different client locations, sometimes requiring overnight stays
Preferred
Technical certifications in industrial maintenance, electrical systems, or related fields preferred
Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and other industrial control systems is a plus
Experience with welding, fabrication, or machining is advantageous
Relevant certifications such as HVAC Technician, Electrical Technician, or Industrial Maintenance Certifications are a plus
