Dometic Violence Case Manager
Helpline Youth Counseling (HYC) is a nonprofit agency providing youth services in Southeast Los Angeles County. The Domestic Violence Case Manager/Counselor is responsible for coordinating and executing the domestic violence program, providing comprehensive services to victims, and promoting community awareness through outreach and education.

Responsibilities
Be responsible for the coordination, planning, implementation and execution of the California Office of Emergency Services (CalOES) domestic violence program and its services
Provide victims of domestic violence, gang violence, or human trafficking with a comprehensive array of services, which will include assessments, case management, domestic violence education, parent education, linkages, resources, advocacy, life skills, shelter assistance, counseling, employment activities, and financial literacy
Provide one-on-one counseling sessions and group sessions, both telehealth and in-person
Services to be provided throughout the communities of Service Area 7 and 8, which can be provided out of HYCs Whittier, Commerce, and/or Long Beach offices
Provide outreach through community events or other agency events to promote services
Provide workshops or presentations to provide awareness and education to the community
Maintain case file and provide accurate and timely documentation within three (3) business days of service unless a crisis occurs, in which, documentation will be required within 24 hours
Demonstrate strong oral and written communications skills, including a sound foundation in English grammar, spelling, and punctuation
Adhere to and promote HYCs mission and values
Acts as a role model to others exhibiting high degree of professionalism and ability to work with diverse populations and respect cultural diversity
Capacity to be discreet and a demeanor to maintain confidentiality relating to client and personnel information
Adaptive, multi-tasking ability, and ability to easily transition from one task to the next
Great work ethic demonstrated by reliability, punctuality, professionalism, diligence, and strong follow-up skills
Attend or complete all necessary trainings and any required internal or external meetings
Attend required supervision with program manager and clinical supervisor
Other related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelors degree in a human services field or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
Minimum three years of experience and knowledge of, and/or experience working with victims of human trafficking, sexual assault, domestic violence, or other victim populations (e.g. gang/immigrant/refugee populations)
Superb planning and organizational skills with a proven track record for strategic planning and execution and attention to detail
Ability to succeed independently within a fast-paced, dynamic, and sometimes unpredictable work environment
Competency to work with the various ethnic/cultural groups in the target area/community
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
Great work ethic demonstrated by reliability, punctuality, professionalism, diligence, and strong follow-up skills
U.S. Citizenship or permanent resident status
Valid Class C drivers license. Current auto insurance coverage and good driving record
Ability to successfully pass a TB screening test and Live Scan fingerprinting
Ability to pass background check and criminal clearance
Preferred
Bilingual in English and Spanish
Certification in the 40-hour DV advocate training
