Responsibilities
Lead the preparation of electrical and instrumentation design packages including drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and layouts
Ensure designs meet project specifications, codes, and standards (NEC, IEC, ISA, IEEE, etc.)
Review and approve design documents prepared by team members
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other disciplines to ensure seamless integration of E&I systems
Manage design schedules, deliverables, and resource allocation
Support procurement by preparing material take-offs, specifications, and vendor data reviews
Develop and maintain instrument indexes, cable schedules, and loop diagrams
Provide guidance on control systems architecture, PLC/DCS interfaces, and field instrumentation selection
Ensure proper grounding, lighting, and power distribution design for facilities
Mentor and train junior designers and drafters, fostering technical growth and accountability
Promote best practices in CAD tools
Drive continuous improvement in design workflows and standards
Participate in design reviews and implement corrective actions
Ensure compliance with safety standards, client requirements, and regulatory guidelines
Support construction and commissioning teams with design clarifications and field changes
Qualification
Required
10+ years of experience in electrical and instrumentation design
Proficiency in CAD software and design tools (AutoCAD, CADWorx, Elecdes Design Suite)
Strong knowledge of industry codes and standards (NEC, IEC, ISA, IEEE)
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
Preferred
Experience in EPC projects, industrial facilities, or oil & gas/petrochemical sectors is highly desirable
