Entry-Level Construction Engineer - Aviation

Responsibilities
Performs construction administration and construction inspection
Serves as RPR/RE on the construction phase of airport projects within the region led by our Hunt Valley office
Facilitates the construction management of the project through coordination with the Project Manager, Design Team, Contractor, and Owner
Tracks quantities and work progress utilizing field measurements and Civil 3D
Travels to airport project sites (expected 75%+ field work)
Conducts civil engineering design and constructability reviews for airport projects to support design team
Completes designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematics, and final working drawings for preparation of construction plans related to airport development projects including runways, taxiways, aprons, hangars, terminals, and other airport facilities
Prepares construction specifications for airport development projects per FAA Advisory Circular 150/5370-10 and State requirements
Prepares design reports, schedules, quantity takeoffs, and cost estimates
Collects and analyzes data to support design and construction phases of projects
Uses various computer software for design development and prepares plans in Civil 3D
Coordinates and collaborates with other airport/civil engineering, architectural, and engineering disciplines, sub-consultants, Utility companies, permitting agencies, contractors, government and regulatory agencies, and clients
Performs work in accordance with agreed-upon budget and schedule
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, or related engineering field
Due to the nature of work, U.S. Citizenship is required
Valid Driver's License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices. As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review
Ability to pass Federal background and criminal investigation checks in order to obtain Airport identification badges
Preferred
Ability to work in both an office and field (construction) environment
Experience with Microsoft Office Software
Experience using AutoCAD/Civil 3D design software
Experience in performing construction administration and inspection
Read, write, and communicate effectively in the English language
