Electrical Designer - MEP
CPH is a multi-disciplinary Engineering and Architecture firm that ranks in the nation’s Top 500 Design Firms by ENR Magazine. We are seeking an Electrical Designer to join our dynamic MEP team in Orlando, FL, responsible for designing and drafting electrical engineering systems for various project types while coordinating with other engineering disciplines.

Responsibilities
Collaborate with project teams to develop electrical design concepts, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low voltage systems
Create detailed electrical drawings, schematics, and layouts using industry-standard software and design tools
Perform calculations and analysis for load sizing, voltage drop, circuit protection, and energy efficiency in compliance with relevant codes and standards
Coordinate and communicate effectively with other engineering disciplines, architects, and clients to integrate electrical systems into overall project designs
Conduct field surveys and assessments to gather information about existing electrical systems and infrastructure
Review and evaluate electrical specifications, equipment submittals, and shop drawings for compliance with project requirements and industry best practices
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior designers, ensuring the accuracy and quality of their work
Stay updated with the latest advancements in electrical design technologies, codes, and regulations, and incorporate them into project deliverables
Qualification
Required
Associate's degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a related field
Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical design, preferably within a consulting or design firm
Proficiency in utilizing computer-aided design (CAD) software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools for electrical design
Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards, such as NEC, NFPA, and IEEE
Experience with power distribution, lighting design, fire alarm systems, and low voltage systems
Familiarity with electrical system components, equipment, and materials
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
