Responsibilities
Independently prepare, format, and e-file pleadings, motions, discovery, and other litigation documents in CA state and federal courts
Manage complex calendars, deadlines, and reminders using court rules and internal systems
Maintain organized digital case files, attorney correspondence, and document databases
Draft and issue subpoenas and handle records requests
Communicate professionally with clients, court personnel, and opposing counsel
Provide administrative and litigation support to attorneys as needed, including answering phones, handling mailings, and performing routine office tasks
Qualification
Required
Minimum 2 years of full-time experience as a Legal Secretary in civil litigation or insurance defense in California
Hands-on experience with CA state and federal e-filing platforms (e.g., One Legal, File & Serve, CM/ECF)
Working knowledge of California court rules, deadlines, and litigation procedures
Proven experience supporting multiple attorneys
Strong drafting, formatting, grammar, and communication skills
Must have experience formatting motions, including tables of contents and tables of authorities
High level of organization, accuracy, and attention to detail
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and document management systems
Ability to work onsite in our San Diego office at least two days per week
