Senior Scientist, Project Engineering - Chief Engineer Next Generation Jammer (NGJ)

Responsibilities
Build, lead, and manage a cross-functional engineering team, consisting of mechanical, electrical, systems, and software engineers, to ensure ongoing advancement of the program
Technical, cost, and schedule accountability for technical program execution. Manage contract change and all phases of the portfolio from capture to sustaining
Maintain a climate of fostering a high level of employee motivation, performance, and commitment
Review and approve estimate to complete (ETCs) of the engineering content of the program
Represent engineering with major customers and stakeholders through clear communication
Conduct trade studies to compare different hardware design options and select the most appropriate solutions
Perform critical analyses of subcomponents to identify potential issues and ensure optimal performance
Provide guidance and support to achieve project goals including preliminary design, integration, and formal hardware/software qualification
Oversee CAM activities, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation for the program
Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of hardware, sub-assemblies, and software
Develop and maintain documentation related to system design, analysis, and testing
Participate in design reviews, technical meetings, and project planning sessions
Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices
Lead technical staff members to resolve issues
Support new business pursuits and proposal cost reviews to ensure proper technology readiness, Design to Cost, and resource alignment
Communicates within and outside of the organization to explain and influence changes to practices, processes and approaches
Office-based with occasional travel to project sites or meetings as required
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and a minimum of 15 years of prior relevant experience
Graduate Degree in Engineering and a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience
In lieu of a degree, minimum of 19 years of prior related experience
Active Secret Security Clearance
Preferred
Experience leading development and integration test teams
Electronic Warfare or Sensor signal processing experience
Agile software development leadership experience
Software or Hardware Description Language (HDL) design and development experience
Earned Value Management experience in both budgeting and schedule planning
Model-based design experience, preferably with SysML using Cameo Systems Modeler
Active DoD Top Secret clearance
