Senior Project Engineer-Electrical

Responsibilities

Design auxiliary power systems for HVDC converter stations end-to-end
Specify and size auxiliary transformers, MV/LV switchgear, UPS, batteries, diesel gensets, and cables
Produce single-line diagrams, cable schedules, equipment layouts, and grounding/EMC instructions
Lead technical discussions with customers, suppliers, and multi-disciplinary internal teams
Review and integrate vendor documentation with civil, mechanical, and system designs
Perform load flow, short-circuit, and selectivity studies for auxiliary networks
Support site engineering, FAT, installation supervision, and commissioning with strong HSE focus
Identify risks and opportunities; drive structured corrective actions using Lean and Six Sigma tools
Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines

Required

Bachelor's degree in engineering
Minimum of 8 years of related experience
5 years' experience within auxiliary power system design, installation, and commissioning
Experience in design, preparation, and review of indoor/outdoor electrical equipment layouts and cable routing for substations and utilities
Experience in design, preparation, and review of sizing calculations and design documents for auxiliary equipment
Professional engineering competence
Strong team collaboration skills
Willingness to travel as needed, 20% and more
Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States

Preferred

P.Eng. designation is much preferred
