Responsibilities

Investigate the validity of claims, evaluate policy coverage, and determine if any referrals to the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) are necessary
Make prompt contact with policyholders and other relevant parties to gather required documentation, conduct recorded statements, and more
Establish initial reserves based on gathered information, adjusting as needed throughout the life of the claim
Negotiate timely and fair settlements with claimants, attorneys, or other parties. Issue accurate payments as appropriate
Identify potential risks, red flags, and fraud indicators, escalating concerns to the SIU when applicable
Maintain an organized diary system to ensure all claims are handled efficiently and in compliance with timelines
Effectively manage the loss costs associated with litigation claims
Adhere to all state and local regulations, including New Jersey and Pennsylvania Unfair Claims Practices and Guidelines

Required

1+ year of experience handling Bodily Injury claims
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to provide excellent customer service
Exceptional organizational and time management abilities
Strong analytical, investigative, and negotiation skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn and navigate new computer systems and technologies
