Responsibilities

Developing and deploying state-of-the-art ground operational systems

Contributing to the success and innovation of the SDA GMI program

Working effectively with multidisciplinary teams

Documenting system designs, configurations, and procedures

Understanding systems engineering principles and methodologies

Performing systems design, integration, and validation

Conducting requirements analysis and system architecture design

Applying DevOps principles and practices

Utilizing automation tools

Employing cloud platforms and infrastructure as code

Ensuring cybersecurity principles and compliance standards are met

Required

Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field

5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience

Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire

U.S. citizenship is required

Experience with system/software design for cloud-based microservice architecture

Familiarity with operating systems (e.g., Linux, Windows)

Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V)

Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and methodologies

Experience with systems design, integration, and validation

Proficiency in requirements analysis and system architecture design

Understanding of DevOps principles and practices

Experience with automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef)

Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)

Knowledge of infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation)

Understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices

Familiarity with compliance standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001)

Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Proficient in documenting system designs, configurations, and procedures

Proficiency in systems engineering, decomposing requirements into architecture, internal and external interfaces, and design behavior

Experience with ground pre-planned or ad-hoc scheduling and situational awareness of satellites and payloads

Experience with tracking IR payload or ground mission data transport, handling, and analysis

Experience decomposing high-level space-ground systems design into ground software/systems design

Experience with MBSE methodologies and tools such as CAMEO or MagicDraw

Familiarity with programming languages such as Java, Python, and MATLAB, including for software developer coordination, system analysis, prototype algorithm development, or modeling

Knowledge of cloud technologies and their application in system design and deployment

Background in simulation and modeling analysis with tools like STK, particularly in aerospace applications a plus
