Senior Accountant / Controller

Cambridge Innovation Institute is seeking a detail-driven, analytical, and proactive Senior Accountant / Controller to join their Finance team. This role involves leading month-end close processes, ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, and contributing to process improvements within the accounting function.

Responsibilities

Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
Ensure timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Maintain and analyze general ledger accounts
Assist with revenue recognition and expense allocations
Review and reconcile bank accounts, credit card transactions, and balance sheet accounts
Support external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and explanations
Maintain internal controls and ensure adherence to accounting policies
Assist in developing and updating accounting procedures
Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and enhance accounting systems
Participate in or lead special projects as needed

Qualification

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
5+ years of progressive accounting experience
Strong understanding of GAAP
Proficiency with accounting/ERP systems (QuickBooks, Sage Intact, Microsoft Dynamics) and ADP (Workforce Now)
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, modeling, etc.)
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organizational and time-management skills
