Responsibilities
You can manage numerous Capital One Software deals from start to execution in a timely manner
You will lead negotiations with Fortune 500 customers and ensure that Capital One Software is adequately protected from risk by leveraging industry best practices and internal subject matter experts
You understand that Legal and your business counterparts are really part of 'One Deal Team' and you will partner very closely with the Deal Desk in Revenue Operations
You understand the law as well as the technology driving Capital One Software’s product offerings
Your (to be learned) understanding of Capital One’s banking history and technology journey, the commercial software industry, and applicable law will allow you to work around the corners of novelty
As the lead Legal negotiator for medium to low risk deals, you are the face of Capital One Software to prospective customers
Qualification
Required
Juris Doctor Degree
Active member in good standing of at least one state bar
At least 3 years of experience in a law firm environment, contracting procurement, or advising on corporate transactions and drafting and negotiating transaction documents
Preferred
2+ years of experience in advising technology companies or banks
2+ years of experience drafting and negotiating commercial software contracts
Experience drafting commercial software license agreements or product terms
Understanding cloud technology and a wide variety of other technology areas
Effective oral and written communication skills in communicating business and intellectual property issues with and between developers, engineers, and business leaders
Ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams
Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, and follow through and meet deadlines
Ability to respond to competing stakeholder requests and prioritize urgency and importance
Strong analytical and computer skills
