Responsibilities
Mentor and oversee the accounting team, including supervision, training, and performance evaluation
Manage the month end and year end close process
Run an accurate, timely month-end close process
Produce GAAP-Complaint financial statements
Maintain internal controls and audit readiness
Lead the annual financial audit and annual bank audit
Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements, including the balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement and MD&A narratives for internal and external stakeholders
Analyze financial data and trends to identify opportunities for cost savings and business improvement
Maintain strong relationships with external auditors, external tax preparers and other stakeholders
Develop and implement policies and procedures to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations

Assist in the budgeting and forecasting process, developing and monitoring annual budgets and financial projections
Participate in mergers and acquisitions activities as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required
10+ years of accounting or finance experience
3+ years in a Controller or Assistant Controller role
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to identify and implement process automation opportunities
Adapt and be nimble while working in a fast-paced environment
Self-driven individual willing to take the initiative to improve department and company performance
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Demonstrated history of working cross-functionally
Appreciation and attention to detail
Preferred
CPA preferred
Experience in manufacturing industry preferred (Chemical Manufacturing most preferred)
Familiarity with large ERP system (JDE preferred)
