Sr Principal Systems Engineer - SETC - Onsite
Raytheon is seeking a talented and motivated Senior Principal Systems Engineer to join our team within the Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SETC) Discipline, supporting the LTAMDS and GhostEye Radars. In this role, you will troubleshoot issues, perform system maintenance, and implement solutions, directly impacting the success of mission-critical defense systems.

Responsibilities
Maintain Tactical and Non-Tactical Systems: You will provide system and network administration in a Redhat 7, 8 & 9 Enterprise Linux, Cisco and Nvidia environment
Troubleshoot and Analyze: Identify and resolve operating system, network, hardware, software, and system issues through detailed analysis and debugging
Lead System Build Efforts: Develop and implement installation plans, procedures and documentation for both tactical and non-tactical system builds
Integrate Systems: Install and integrate server hardware, network hardware, operating systems and software into tactical and simulation systems, evaluating their compatibly and functionality
Software Installation: Install and configure commercial, government and Raytheon software applications requested by end users
System Hardening: Work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements
Present Findings: Present technical findings and solutions to leadership
Support Missions: Travel as needed (up to 20%) to support mission execution at various locations including local RTX facilities, test sites, vendor facilities, and customer locations
Qualification
Required
Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 10 years of prior engineering experience or equivalent experience
Experience with Linux architecture, deployment, administration, performance monitoring/tuning, security hardening, and troubleshooting
Network equipment, deployment, administration, performance monitoring/tuning, security hardening, and troubleshooting
Experience with administering server hardware
Active and transferable U.S. government-issued security clearance is required prior to start date
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Preferred
Experience with network design and management
Experience using VMware or other virtual computing methods
Experience Scripting (Bash, Python, Ansible) and Kickstart
Experience with Anti-Virus solutions
Experience hardening systems and following STIGs
Experience supporting engineers in software, simulations, and hardware development
Experience with generating technical documentation, such as system build plans, procedures, or technical reports
Experience working in an integration lab, test facility, or in the field, supporting integration and/or verification
Experience interfacing with internal and external customers
Cisco Certification, RedHat Certified Systems Administrator, VMWare or other industry relevant certifications
Experience and Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. for racking equipment
