Responsibilities
Perform system safety assessments (SSA) per ARP4761, including FHA, FTA, FMEA, and CMA
Evaluate aircraft systems, identify hazards, quantify risks, and develop mitigation strategies
Support development of safety requirements following ARP4754A and integrate them into system designs
Collaborate with engineering teams and regulatory stakeholders (FAA/EASA) to ensure compliance with airworthiness standards
Conduct and/or review safety-related analyses, simulations, inspections, audits, and test results
Develop and maintain safety documentation, hazard logs, and verification/validation records
Support mission assurance activities, root-cause investigations, and corrective action planning
Ensure compliance with DO-178C , DO-254 , and MIL-STD-882E where applicable
Qualification
Required
Strong understanding of FAA regulations and EASA standards
Expertise with ARP4754A, ARP4761, DO-178C, DO-254, and MIL-STD-882E
Background in electrical systems, safety engineering, or reliability engineering
Ability to work with cross-functional technical teams and present findings to regulators/customers
Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant engineering experience, OR Master's with 3+ years, OR PhD with relevant experience
Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or related field (ABET preferred)
