Research Associate - Metabolomics/Lipidomics
BPGbio, Inc. is seeking a Metabolomics/Lipidomics Research Associate to support their analytical chemistry team. The role involves performing metabolite analysis using LC/MS and LC/MS/MS platforms, developing novel methods, and managing collaborations.

Responsibilities
Conceptualize, perform, analyze, and report experiments
Perform mass spectrometry-based assays and studies focused on metabolite analysis of diverse samples from the biological matrices
Laboratory analytical instrumentation routine maintenance
Daily QA/QC, system suitability testing, method development, and validated SOP implementation
Develop SOPs
Manage external collaborations
Other duties, as assigned
Qualification
Required
Requires a B.S. (0-2 years of experience) or M.S. (with 0-1 years of experience) in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, or a related field, preferably in the analysis of small molecules by mass spectrometry
Broad understanding of metabolomics/lipidomics applications and biochemistry in the areas of systems biology, neurodegeneration, obesity, cardiovascular disease, and cancer is a plus
Familiarity with core chromatography and mass spectrometry concepts, including principles of reversed-phase LC and HILIC, high-resolution/accurate mass strategies, structural elucidation by MS/MS, and isotope dilution
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills combined with a proven track record of technical and organizational skills
Must be able to work in a team-oriented environment and demonstrate attention to detail and record-keeping. Must demonstrate fully professional level requiring independent work in metabolomics research and development
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required for preparation of reports for management
Preferred
Experience with common sample preparation techniques is preferred but not required, including solid phase extraction (SPE), liquid-liquid extraction, and protein precipitation for biofluids, tissues, and cells
Ability to prepare manuscripts for presentation, publication in scientific journals, and regulatory requirements is preferred
