The Packaging Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of packaging equipment, performing maintenance, and producing quality products per the production schedule.
Food Processing
Responsibilities
Operate production line equipment (votators, shortening, liquid and tote line)
Troubleshoot production line issues to identify problems
Perform and complete package quality checks and respond to problems, identify and handle off-quality products, and package supplies
Interpret tank inventories and valve and pump settings to ensure the correct product is being filled and pumped
Load and unload railcars and trucks
Pump and/or dump ingredients into oil products
Collect product samples from tanks, railcars, and tank trucks for analysis
Transfer oil products throughout facility
Collect inventory of storage tanks
Operate a forklift for warehouse, loading, receiving
Maintaining a safe work environment, identifying hazards and exposures, and being willing to approach others about safety
Maintain documents for processes as required by quality and operation systems
Maintaining sanitation levels of work area
Qualification
Required
Ability to read and write
Ability to routinely perform strenuous physical labor
Ability to work at heights, around water, or in confined spaces
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Ability to learn technical procedures using company-provided computer equipment
Ability to take instruction and follow direction
Dependable attendance
Preferred
High school graduate or GED preferred
