Learning Adventures Preschool Education Support Professional - 0.7 FTE at Sonia Sotomayor Elementary
Sioux Falls School District is seeking a Learning Adventures Preschool Education Support Professional to join their team at Sonia Sotomayor Elementary, where language and culture come together to create a dynamic learning experience. The role involves providing a nurturing environment for children ages 3-5, assisting in their supervision, and supporting their educational needs.

Responsibilities
Constantly provide a healthy, safe, and nurturing environment for children ages 3-5
Assists with the supervision of students in the classroom, on the playground and during school outings
Supervised children's play, always making sure of their physical safety
Provides personal care to students with daily living needs (e.g., toileting, feeding, physical management)
Provides review and practice of skills taught by a teacher with students 1:1 and in small groups
Prepares instructional materials as directed/selected by Preschool Leader/Teacher
Acknowledging and responding to different developmental and behavioral levels exhibited by children
Provides clerical assistance to maintaining student records (charting, assignments, attendance, data for progress notes)
Displaying high levels of motivation and patience
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Maintains the confidentiality of students and their families
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Two or more years post high school education, with preference given to early child-centered studies and/or early childhood development expertise
Previous work in an educational setting, childcare, daycare, CPR certification, First Aid training, familiarity with various child development techniques
Patience, flexibility, caring personality, punctuality, and dependability
Experience with monitoring social and emotional development and behavior management
Excellent oral and written communications skills
