Senior Energy Analyst
Greenlink Analytics is seeking a talented Senior Energy Analyst who is experienced in problem-solving, research, and policy analysis to advance clean energy policies and initiatives. The role involves producing research and analysis, effectively communicating findings, and engaging with various stakeholders in the clean energy sector.
Responsibilities
Develop, refine, and maintain quantitative models to assess energy efficiency and renewable energy impacts by sector, i.e. residential, commercial, industrial, and transportation
Identify, collect, and synthesize energy data from diverse public and proprietary sources to build credible baselines, benchmarks, and long-term sector forecasts
Evaluate and construct energy-use forecasts for cities, states, utilities, and other partners, incorporating technology, policy, and market trends
Design data-driven clean-energy, decarbonization, and equity-focused policies and programs, providing actionable recommendations for government, utility, and community stakeholders
Author high-quality research reports, policy briefs, and analytical deliverables that translate complex insights into clear, compelling narratives
Engage directly with partners—delivering presentations, facilitating discussions, and collaborating across internal and external workstreams to support project goals
Contribute to team strategy and thought leadership, helping advance best practices in modeling, policy design, and equity-centered clean-energy analysis
Qualification
Required
Knowledge of energy markets, especially electricity policy and regulatory issues
Exceptional quantitative analysis, and ability to create forecasts using assumptions from primary research and existing databases
Demonstrated proficiency with advanced Excel functions, databases, word processing, slide presentation software, and data visualization tools (preferably Tableau). Outstanding problem-solving skills, resourceful and skillful in conducting secondary research, information discovery, and data aggregation
Bachelor's Degree in public policy, economics, engineering, science or related fields and 4+ years of experience as a consultant/analyst in the clean energy field, OR Advanced degree and 2+ years' experience
Strong interest and/or experience in one or more of the following areas of energy supply and demand: energy efficiency, renewable energy, residential and commercial building energy use, distributed generation, electric vehicles, utility resource planning, and clean transportation
Experience with Scenario Analysis
Preferred
Knowledge or experience in developing and delivering testimony before a regulatory body
Advanced degree in public policy, economics, engineering, science or related fields, AND
8+ years of experience as a consultant/analyst in the clean energy field, OR
8+ years of utility industry experience, OR
8+ years of municipal clean energy / sustainable transportation experience
Experience with Programming skills (e.g., Python, R, or similar) will be a plus
