Engineering Inspector I/II - Construction
Road Commission For Oakland County is seeking an Engineering Inspector I/II to perform construction-related inspection activities. The role involves ensuring quality in road and bridge construction projects and maintaining project records, while also providing direction to other inspectors as needed.

Responsibilities
Performs a broad range of construction related inspection activities to assure quality in road and bridge construction projects
Inspects more difficult or extensive MDOT Local Agency Projects involving Federal Aid Funding requiring detailed reporting and recordkeeping
Maintain project records that are subject to audit by MDOT and FHWA in addition to all normal inspectional requirements
Provides direction and coordinates the work of other inspectors (including third party contractors) when required
Calculate volumes and areas of complex shapes to track material quantities
Must perform duties in a professional and courteous manner to promote a positive image of the Road Commission for Oakland County
Requires a daily schedule that supports RCOC hours of operation
Regular and predictable onsite job attendance is an essential function of this position
Qualification
Required
A High School Diploma or equivalent with math training sufficient to perform field and laboratory tests
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in construction inspection, commensurate with the duties described above
Must possess and maintain a valid state of Michigan driver license
Must be legally eligible to work in the United States and possess a valid driver's license
