Electrical Engineer, Hardware Module Lead

General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) engineers a diverse portfolio of high technology solutions, products and services that enable customers to successfully execute missions across all domains of operation. As an Electrical Module Design Lead, you’ll guide an electrical team and be responsible for hardware design from requirements analysis through schematic capture, managing layout constraints, and supporting PCB layout, manufacturing, integration & test, and qualification.

Responsibilities

Requirements analysis
System and Board Architecture
Schematic capture, defining routing constraints, and supporting PCB layout and routing activities
FPGA architecture and firmware
Supporting manufacturing, integration & test, and qualification
COTS components selection
Schedule and budget decisions

Qualification

Required

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field
3+ years of job-related experience or a Master's degree plus 2 years experience
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required within a reasonable period of time
U.S. citizenship is required

Preferred

Circuit card design incorporating embedded processors or FPGAs
Ability to execute a project from concept to production
Working knowledge of Siemens/Mentor Graphics Tools suite and FPGA design tools
Circuit and PCB design knowledge
Solid understanding of hardware development processes
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to digest customer requests into actionable requirements
Knowledge and application of EVMS and Control Account Management
Defense background is preferred, but not required
