Contract Specialist

The Contract Specialist will manage procurement and contractual agreements, ensuring compliance and fostering supplier relationships to support operational and strategic objectives.

Responsibilities
Contract Management: Develop, negotiate, and manage supplier contracts, ensuring terms align with company goals and regulatory requirements
Supplier Relationship Management: Foster and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, driving performance, cost optimization, and alignment with company values
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate contractual risks, ensuring business continuity and regulatory compliance
Claims Management: Investigate, evaluate, and resolve contract claims and disputes in a timely and effective manner
Cost Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to ensure contracts meet budgetary constraints and deliver optimal value
Performance Monitoring: Implement and manage supplier performance metrics, driving continuous improvement and adherence to service level agreements (SLAs)
Strategic Procurement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and execute supply chain strategies that align with organizational goals
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all contracts comply with relevant aerospace standards, regulations, and quality requirements (e.g., ITAR, AS9100, FAA and other governing bodies)
Training & Mentorship: Provide guidance and training to junior staff on contract management best practices and processes
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Law, or a related field
7+ years of experience in contract management or supply chain within the aerospace industry
Proven expertise in contract negotiation and supplier management
Strong analytical and financial acumen
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in ERP systems and supply chain software
Professional certifications (e.g., CIPS, CPSM, PMP, or equivalent) are an asset
