Responsibilities
The Nurse Intern performs the following basic nursing procedures under the direct supervision of the registered nurse
Must maintain the flexibility necessary for rapidly changing assignments
Performs the functions of a Nurse Intern in carrying out all assignments given by the registered nurse with a minimum of continuous supervision
Is accountable to the nurses for all patient care he/she gives during a shift
Is responsible for adhering to all standards of nursing care and for promoting teamwork among co-workers
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma, Certificate of attendance, GED, or Experience
Basic Life Support
Actively enrolled in a nursing program (ADN or BSN), successful completion of medical surgical nursing course and clinical; Upon graduation of nursing program, must successfully pass the NCLEX within 90 days
Currently enrolled in a nursing program, in good standing, completed at least one clinical medical surgical rotation, and within 10 months of completing a nursing degree program (BSN or ADN)
