Metal Fabricator I - Grit Blast Operator
Whitcraft Group is a global manufacturer of complex aircraft engine components, committed to operational improvement and customer service. The Metal Fabricator I - Grit Blast Operator will primarily perform grit blast duties and learn processes related to sheet metal products and parts.

Responsibilities
Part masking of critical no blast areas, and markings
Precise Stripping of coating from aerospace parts using grit blast
Work to specific tech manuals requirement for grit blasting
Look up, read, and interpret specification
Visually Inspect parts for coating removal
Stand for long periods of time
Able to work with arms in a blast cabinet
Perform general machine maintenance including but not limited to (replace hoses, gloves, empty fill grit, change nozzles, )
Use of basic hand tools (screwdriver, Wrenches etc,)
Move heavy grit barrels with hand truck
Learn and gain a better understanding of calibrated tooling and equipment such as but not limited to vernier calipers, height gages, pi-tapes, plug gages, micrometers, go/no go gages, thread gages, cylindrical plug and vertical dividing head
Become proficient in interpreting blueprints to determine how and where to fabricate, assemble and install sheet metal products
Become proficient in measuring, marking dimensions, and lay out material to be installed using tools such as scribes, rulers, calculators and squares
Become proficient in fastening joints and seams in sheet metal with solder, welds, caulk, bolts and metal driver clips, ensuring work is done carefully and bonds will last
Assist in checking parts using specified gages or check parts using furnished fixtures to see that dimensions are being maintained
Consistently maintain specific tolerances and accurately perform dimensions
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or equivalent or 1 year of relevant experience
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis
Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations
Preferred
Previous Grit blast experience
Professional sheet metal fabricator certificate
Basic knowledge of specific properties of metals used
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and blueprints
