Fitness Program Manager, NF-04

Responsibilities
Supervises and mentors a team of fitness professionals responsible for the management and operations of multiple installation fitness centers and the execution of comprehensive physical fitness programming and instruction
Responsible for developing and executing a non-appropriated fund (NAF) budget and providing requirements for an annual appropriated fund (APF) budget to include the expenditures required to conduct physical fitness programs
Ensures employees are properly trained in the use of RecTrac and proper cash handling procedures. Ensures funds are collected, receipts are verified, and that the deposits are made daily
Structures assignments and reviews work of subordinates based on priorities and deadlines, and considers the difficulty and requirements of assignments and the capabilities of employees
Establishes and maintains business relationships with professionals in the field of physical fitness. Reviews research publications and fitness journals to ensure accuracy in methodology and philosophy in the area of physical fitness
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in exercise science, sports management, or related field
Three years of full-time experience in the health and fitness industry
Current nationally recognized certification in First Aid, CPR, and AED
Current basic level personal trainer certification from a nationally accredited organization
Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required
Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position
A one-year probationary period may be required
Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check
Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation
Must maintain all required certifications and training
Must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance
Must be able to endure physical demands beyond normal requirements including prolonged standing and walking, and must be able to work in settings where exposure to moderate discomforts may exist
Must be able to accommodate a flexible work schedule, to include early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays
Preferred
Two years of full-time supervisory experience in the health and fitness industry
Current certification in Tactical Strength and Conditioning (TSAC) or Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) from the National Strength and Conditioning Association
