Responsibilities

Apply broad knowledge of bridge engineering principles and practices

Evaluate, select and adapt standard techniques, procedures and criteria

Design complete projects, systems, components or processes

Prepare advanced general and basic non-routine engineering designs and/or technical data for completion and accuracy

Prepare complete project documents

Analyze and interpret data, formulate and solve problems

Prepare scopes of work, budgets, and schedule assignments

Assist with proposal development for professional services

Perform field investigations/site visits as needed

Qualification

Bridge/structural designCivil engineering degreePE licensedMicroStation proficiencyMDOT/AASHTO codesEnglish proficiency

Required

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering

5+ years of bridge/structural design experience

Knowledge of MDOT and AASHTO design codes

Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions

Preferred

PE licensed or working towards licensure

Proficiency with MicroStation and OpenRoads; Civil3D is a plus

Knowledge of AREMA design codes is a plus
