KYC Compliance Technology & Controls Lead
Phaxis is partnered with a global financial institution undergoing modernization across its compliance and client onboarding functions. The Compliance Technology & Controls Lead will improve KYC and onboarding documentation management, focusing on control design, data integrity, and process optimization while collaborating with tech teams.
Responsibilities
Act as the primary liaison between Compliance, KYC Operations, and Technology for onboarding system enhancements
Lead the design and refinement of workflow controls, data validation rules, and system configurations
Develop and document business requirements for onboarding tools and case management systems
Participate in system testing (UAT), troubleshoot issues, and support rollout of new features or enhancements
Identify operational or data-quality gaps and recommend process or system improvements
Support governance activities including audit requests, QA/monitoring, and regulatory-driven remediation work
Maintain policies, procedures, and documentation related to onboarding systems and controls
Provide subject-matter expertise to onboarding teams on data requirements, system behavior, and control expectations
Qualification
Required
Background in Client Onboarding, KYC/KYB, AML, or Financial Crimes within banking, broker-dealer, or fintech environments
Working knowledge of onboarding platforms, workflow/case management tools, or KYC system architecture
Ability to translate compliance or operational needs into clear technical requirements
Experience participating in system upgrades, data remediation efforts, workflow redesign, or tech-driven process improvements
Strong project-management skills with ability to coordinate across multiple teams
Excellent communication skills and comfort dealing with both business and technology stakeholders
Preferred
Experience with workflow technologies such as Salesforce, Appian, Pega, Fenergo, Actimize, or similar tools
Familiarity with APIs, data mapping, system testing (UAT), or business requirements documentation
Exposure to regulatory requirements related to CIP, CDD/EDD, KYC onboarding controls, or independent testing
