Senior Director, Controller
US HealthConnect, Inc. is a leader in medical education, healthcare publishing, and pharmaceutical marketing services, dedicated to providing relevant information to healthcare professionals. They are seeking a Senior Director, Controller to oversee all accounting operations, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting while maintaining strong cross-functional relationships and leading continuous improvement initiatives within the accounting team.
Responsibilities
Directly responsible for all accounting systems and functions
Mentor and develop the accounting team, manage appropriate delegation and allocation of workload, proactively anticipate and effectively resolve problems
Ultimately design, establish and maintain accounting team organizational structure and staffing
Effectively execute accounting functions while leading continuous improvement initiatives within the accounting function
Lead the monthly and quarterly close process and perform/oversee month-end journals and associated balance sheet account reconciliations
Assist in the preparation of monthly income statement analysis schedules for senior management
Oversight for timely invoicing and collections process ensuring best in class order to cash process
Oversight of the procure to pay process ensuring accurate recording of purchases
Lead the revenue recognition process and compliance including appropriate system set up
Deliver knowledge and insight into technical accounting issues and train direct reports on complex issues as needed
Lead monthly, quarterly, annual and statutory financial reporting
Deliver accounting and financial reporting requirements consistent with a private equity-backed company
Assist in Company’s budgeting and planning process for the areas that fall within the accounting function
Integrate acquisitions into current ERP system
Responsible for Accounting Compliance including Debt, Foreign Statutory requirements, Tax Compliance
Develop and implement effective accounting policies, procedures and internal controls
Develop and implement process improvements that create efficiency in the monthly close processes
Lead ERP optimization for ongoing systems and process refinement
Publish and help drive daily cash flow via net working capital metrics, capex planning and tax activity
Qualification
Required
Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
10 to 15 years of experience in a finance or accounting leadership position
Comprehensive understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
High growth experience strongly preferred and deep expertise in: Purchase Price Accounting, General Accounting (GL), Transactional Accounting (AP/AR) and Accounting Policies, Fixed Assets and Project Accounting, Financial Reporting/Power BI, ERP Systems, Tax
Advanced proficiency in NetSuite
Proven experience designing, creating or implementing financial systems
Proven ability to implement, drive, improve and lead corporate accounting processes and procedures
Preferred
Experience with private equity or venture capital backed portfolio companies preferred
Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills; ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials while managing competing priorities within tight deadlines; participate in and facilitate group meetings; ability to work under pressure while maintaining perspective on end result
Proficient with technology; knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems
