The Director of Development at Hesed House is responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy to support the organization’s mission and sustainability, while managing a team to engage with donors and cultivate relationships.

Responsibilities
Leading the creation and implementation of a comprehensive fundraising strategy that includes major gifts, annual giving, corporate partnerships, grants, special events, and planned giving
Cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding relationships with current and prospective donors with an emphasis on major gifts and long-term donor engagement
Overseeing development operations and supervising development staff
Collaborating with senior leadership and program staff to understand funding priorities, develop cases for support, and integrate program impact into fundraising communications and donor meetings
Overseeing institutional giving efforts, including research, proposal writing, reporting, and funder relationship management
Maintaining accurate donor data systems and records and overseeing database management, gift processing, and acknowledgment procedures
Preparing regular reports for leadership and the Board on development progress, donor metrics, revenue goals, and fundraising forecasts
Assisting in annual budgeting processes, strategic planning discussions, development calendar management, and departmental priority setting
Representing Hesed House at events and in meetings with donors, partners, volunteers, and community organizations, serving as a key public advocate for philanthropic engagement
Qualification
Required
Experience developing fundraising plans
Experience improving donor cultivation methods
Experience building an integrated approach to solicitation and stewardship across multiple giving channels
Experience cultivating and stewarding donor relationships with a strong focus on major gifts
Experience with annual giving and donor engagement activities
Experience managing a team of fundraising professionals
Experience overseeing development operations
Experience collaborating with senior leadership and program staff to understand funding priorities
Experience with institutional giving efforts, including research, proposal writing, reporting, and funder relationship management
Experience maintaining accurate donor data systems and records
Experience preparing regular reports for leadership and the Board on development progress, donor metrics, revenue goals, and fundraising forecasts
Experience assisting in annual budgeting processes and strategic planning discussions
Experience representing an organization at events and in meetings with donors, partners, volunteers, and community organizations
