Technical Manager

IES Communications is a national provider of industrial products and infrastructure services. The Technical Manager is responsible for overseeing multiple client-based projects, leading a team of Field Engineers, and ensuring that all work meets IES standards and customer requirements while managing various aspects such as safety, quality, and client relationships.

Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and guide a team of technical experts, including Field Engineers, Technicians, and other support staff to ensure cohesive teamwork and efficient project execution
Collaborate with Program Management to define the technical vision and strategy for the program
Effectively allocate resources across projects to optimize productivity and achieve project milestones
Keep up to date on emerging technologies and industry trends
Maintain project status reports for program projects and report weekly to the Program Manager
Maintain a comprehensive test result management program in accordance with IES standards and the customer’s requirements
Develop a field staff training plan using IES and manufacturer training courses and certifications
Continuously develop and improve processes, methodologies, and tools to enhance efficiency, productivity, and product quality
Coordinate ongoing communication between clients, stakeholders, and other cross-functional teams to understand the requirements, communicate project progress, and to manage expectations
Conduct regular performance evaluations for team members, providing feedback on areas of improvement, and recognizing outstanding achievements

Required

Must be self-motivated, positive in approach, professional, and lead others to create, develop, and implement project process improvements
Must promote the culture and mission of IES, as well as program objectives, to all employees, vendors, clients, and business partners
Must have proven problem-solving skills, critical thinking skills, and the ability to effectively read, write, and give oral presentations
Must have proven high-level skills to interpret blueprints and other project documents, including but not limited to scope, specifications, reporting, and quality metrics
Must be able to travel within branch territory and/or regional territory as needed
Must have the ability to learn Company and customer project management systems
Must be able to successfully secure and maintain a Company-sponsored American Express credit card
Must possess at least a high school diploma or equivalent
Must have experience in customer interactions and General Contractor interactions
Must have a minimum of five (5) years of supervisory or managerial experience
Must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the telecommunications industry
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and MS Project)
Must meet Company minimum driving standards
Must be able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously
Must have demonstrated and verifiable ability to create and manage a project schedule, scope of work, and detailed associated tasks, from project initiation through final completion and customer turnover
