Public Cloud Observability Engineer
Chase is seeking a Public Cloud Observability Engineer to lead the design and delivery of observability tools for public cloud platforms. The role involves collaborating with teams to create cohesive solutions, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring high standards in product delivery.

Responsibilities
Creating well engineered observability solutions for the public cloud will require the successful candidate to develop their knowledge of the major public cloud platforms, initially Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
Design tools that meet the needs of the SRE community
Develop keen understanding the SRE mindset, as our primary customers are SREs and other engineers within the firm
Execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
Partner with other teams to build integrated solutions that are cohesive and give a great joined up experience to our customers
Lead the production of architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
Identify hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
Mentor junior engineers in software engineering practices and encouraging discipline and good code hygiene in the team
Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
Add to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Qualification
Required
Formal training or certification on Security Engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
Excellent understanding of GCP fundamentals including compute, networking, storage, and security policies
Hands-on experience leading system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
Highly proficient in coding in one or more languages, preferably Go or Java
Demonstrated experience leading a team through software engineering challenges
Strong written and verbal communication skills for engaging stakeholders and customers
Enjoy presenting technical designs and approaches to engineering audiences
Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline
Strong commitment to continuous learning and exploring new technologies
Preferred
Exposure to cloud automation technologies such as Terraform
Experience with Google Cloud Platform services for monitoring, auditing, tracing, and access management
Proficiency in deploying, managing, and troubleshooting containerized applications using Kubernetes
Experience with observability platforms such as Dynatrace, Splunk, and Grafana
Understanding and experience with Open Telemetry (OTel) standards and tools
Ability to build secure applications and remediate vulnerabilities using modern techniques
