Mid LevelTwigg Corporation is seeking a Tool Maker responsible for making precision tools used in the manufacturing process. The role involves setting up and operating machinery, creating and repairing automation parts, and maintaining tooling and fixtures.

Responsibilities
Sets up and operates the necessary machinery to build and repair related tooling and fixtures
Sets up and operate machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, CNC machines, and grinders. Will use a variety of machinist hand tools and precision measuring instruments to make component parts or complete tools. The design may be provided from a print or may require development by the tool maker from various resources
Creates and repairs parts for complex automation - Design of machines parts and tooling, fabrication and assembly, process routings, material selection, repairs, and preventative maintenance are required skills. Plans construction procedures and methods, selecting proper materials
Blueprint interpretation, blueprint drawing, and a working knowledge of CAD and CAM are essential skills
Disassembles and assembles molds, analyzes, and solves basic mold problems including flashing conditions, galling, venting, cooling problems, etc. Performs mold repair work on cavities and cores due to damage or wear, including cavity welding. Computer dimensions: determines machining and material/parts required
Assembles, repairs, inspects, cleans, and polishes molds using skill and care while handling and polishing critical surfaces
Lays out, fabricates, and assembles metalworking dies, molds, and machine tool fixtures by analyzing blueprints, sketches, models, and engineering or shop specification
Solve problems relating to unusual material, work-holding arrangements, machine settings, fabrication methods, and production processes
Maintains work area in a neat and orderly condition
Journeyman or equivalent experience and schooling
Assembling, fitting, and repairing tools
Tooling & fixture development
Breakdowns working with the Maintenance department
Work with Plant Manager, as needed, on process improvement projects with some guidance from engineering/quality groups
Qualification
Required
Preferred experience in CNC mills and lathes, 2-3-5 axis, laser cutting, heat treat, metal spinning, hydroforming, EDM, ECG, tig welding, including hand, line, S/A, and robotic, also experience with grinding and NDT
Experience working in a AS9100, NADCAP accredited facility
Measuring tools such as indicators and micrometers
Journeyman or equivalent experience and schooling
Assembling, fitting, and repairing tools
Tooling & fixture development
Breakdowns working with the Maintenance department
Work with Plant Manager, as needed, on process improvement projects with some guidance from engineering/quality groups
Preferred
Experience in Aerospace industry
Familiar with government websites and ability to search the internet
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Basic understanding of clerical procedures and systems such as recordkeeping and filing
