Senior Program/Project Management Support
Analytical Mechanics Associates (AMA) is currently seeking a Senior Program/Project Management Support to assist NASA Armstrong’s Programs and Projects. The successful candidate will provide leadership and technical support for technology-based programs, projects, and missions, ensuring successful execution and adherence to NASA procedures and policies.

Responsibilities
Maintain communication with the project/program manager for all coordination of inherently governmental duties and decisions
Coordinate project requirements across AFRC and with outside stakeholders, suppliers, and subcontractors to include planning and leading team meetings and assisting teams in achieving goals
Provide mentorship across the programmatic and technical spectrum of project support for project/program managers and team members
Develop and deliver project status presentations for internal and external stakeholders
Support strategic planning, project goals and objectives, focus resources and guide the team in response to a dynamic environment from such variables as budgetary limitations, technology maturity and/or advancement in technology and organization capabilities
Provide support in the development and updating of project management plans, networks, and other required project documentation such as concept of operations, project plans, configuration management plans, safety plans, and risk management plans for current and new business advocacies
Work with risk managers and the project technical staff to assess and manage risks
Provide support in the implementation and adoption of NASA tools across the projects, including the transfer of existing and developmental schedules and milestones in the target system software
Provide support in the development of the project work breakdown structure (WBS), detailed project schedules, and cost estimates
Provide program and research engineering analyst support to missions and projects
Develop management reports of performance metrics
Alert Gov PMs of conflicts between resource requirements and resource availability
Participate in project teleconferences/meetings; generate minutes; update/close action items and follow up status of action items to ensure actions resulted in effective resolutions
Tailor and implement applicable system engineering principles to the assigned project
Provide support and coordinate across AFRC organizations on a broad spectrum of technology issues
Identify, manage, and monitor project technical requirements
Provide recommendations for effective solutions for technology challenges and coordinate resolution
Perform studies necessary to ensure safe operations in consideration of technical feasibility, ground testing, mission planning, crew requirements, human factors, maintenance, and other factors
Conduct studies relating to modeling and simulation with a focus on evaluation of existing and contemplated concepts for operations and contingency management
Develop and maintain metrics and technical performance measures
Review and recommend solutions to address metric deviations from desired technical results
Develop and maintain an on-line library for project related data using a structured approach
Review and incorporate existing NASA procedures (NPDs, NPRs, DPRs), tools, and templates
Assist with technical reports and presentations for required reviews. Present information from these events to both internal and external stakeholders as well as senior level leadership
Qualification
Required
Significant previous experience leading technology-based programs, projects and missions at NASA AFRC
Experience in advocacy, development, formulation, execution and close-out of projects or missions
Well versed in both NASA and AFRC procedures and policies
Ability to work closely with various Program, Project and Mission Managers in Code 300 as well as managers at other NASA Centers and NASA HQ
Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Aeronautical, Aerospace, Electronics, Electrical, Chemical, Civil, and/or Mechanical), the Sciences (Mathematics, Chemistry, or Physics) or Technology (Electronics Technology, Computer Science, Human Factors, Safety, Industrial Engineering). Educational institutions must be accredited by one of the nationally recognized accreditation organizations
20-years or more experience as a group leader, project engineer, project manager or equivalent
