TSACS System Administrator and Preservation Manager

Responsibilities

Manage, maintain, and secure the TSACS network, servers, and specialized workstations. This includes managing user accounts, backups, and disaster recovery plans
Administer and maintain the school’s 3D fabrication labs, including 3D printers, scanners, laser cutters, and other equipment used for rapid prototyping and modeling
Provide direct, expert-level technical support to students, faculty, and staff for specialized design software (e.g., Adobe Suite, Rhino, Autodesk Suite) and fabrication equipment
Research, evaluate, and recommend new hardware, software, and fabrication technologies to support the school’s educational and research goals
Manage relationships with technology vendors and support services
Complete administrative duties related to preservation, such as obtaining quotes and creating requisitions for supplies, equipment, and professional services
Coordinate schedules with Facilities, outside vendors, TSACS students, and the Conservator
Prepare and route requests for supplies, equipment. and services
Communicate pertinent information to staff, faculty, and department heads
Taking roles and minutes in meetings
Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks and demands

Required

Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience office management and related office managerial responsibilities
Knowledge of basic language including grammar, punctuation, and spelling rules
Knowledge of Microsoft, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Demonstrated project management skills
Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal skills (ability to maintain a pleasant and professional attitude in daily contact with outside vendors, faculty, staff, etc.)
Ability to see the connections between technology, design, and history, applying a holistic view to the built environment
Great accountability, high integrity, and punctuation
Ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks and demands
High productivity and dependability; ability to work independently
Ability to operate various office machines (copier, PC, fax, machine, etc.)
