Senior Vice President for Mission Integration
Catholic Health is one of Long Island’s finest health and human services agencies. The Senior Vice President for Mission Integration is responsible for ensuring that the mission, vision and values of Catholic Health are integrated into all aspects of the health systems operations, strategy and decision-making.

Responsibilities
Provides health system managerial oversight of and collaboration with Vice President of Mission and Formation leader of Catholic Health
Works to assure the ongoing education of leadership in the Catholic Intellectual Tradition and promotion of the Church’s teachings, especially as they apply in healthcare settings
Ensures understanding of and compliance with the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Healthcare Organizations in communion with the teaching office of the Diocesan Bishop
Ensures the presence of a well-structured and robust formation effort for Catholic Health trustees and leadership at all levels of the health system
Ensure advocacy for our Catholic values, with special emphasis on the needs of the poor, the Gospel of Life and religious liberty. Will work closely with the National Catholic Bioethics Center (NCBC), our partner and key advisor in bioethical matters). Reinforce our social accountability by evaluating the services Catholic Health provides to the community
Maintains relationship with parishes and administrative offices of the Diocese of Rockville Centre as well as other congregations and faith traditions to improve the health and well-being of communities served by Catholic Health
Identifies opportunities, challenges and strategies for the system, senior leadership team and hospital board regarding key areas of mission integration including ongoing Faith Formation, organizational identity, spirituality and culture, ethical principles, community health and the common good
Ensures effective oversight for Pastoral Care Services within Catholic Health and works to unify the efforts of the various religious communities associated with Catholic Health in fulfilling the promise of our mission
Ensure effective oversight of the Chaplains and Clinical Pastoral Education programs of the health system. Ensure that Sacramental practices, Pastoral Care and education / formation are conducted in complete conformity with the laws and magisterium of the Catholic Church as interpreted by the Diocesan Bishop
Serves as a key member of the Mission & Ministry board committee and responsible for developing strategies to promote the presence of a robust Catholic identity for Catholic Health throughout the system
Qualification
Required
Advanced degree in theology, healthcare administration, business administration, public health administration or a related field
Five to seven years progressively responsible leadership experience in working in a complex Catholic health system with a history of successfully leading mission integration and/or formation efforts
Committed and active Catholic in good standing who embraces and supports publicly and personally, the Magisterium of the Roman Catholic Church and a demonstrated record of distinction in the Catholic tradition
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong Managerial Skills And Organizational Abilities
The ability to articulate and demonstrate the importance of integrating our Catholic teachings, ethics, and traditions at every level of the organization
Comprehensive knowledge of the healthcare industry including administrative, financial and service delivery practices
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with Catholic Health trustees, leadership, staff and physicians, as well as community leaders and the public
Demonstrated commitment to working as a visible senior leader representing Catholic Health in the community, developing and strengthening existing relationships
High degree of initiative coupled with strong interpersonal and communication skills to generate a sense of trust and teamwork
Comfort with shared ownership of programs, initiatives, and deliverables
High degree of integrity and personal conduct that is reflective of the mission and values of Catholic Health
Ability to travel daily among Catholic Health facilities and community practices throughout Nassau, Suffolk and Queens Counties
